Facilities Maintenance Lead / Electrician

The Town of Sharon seeks qualified candidates for the full-time (40 hours/week) Facilities Maintenance Lead/Electrician for the Facilities Division within the Department of Public Works (DPW).
 
Duties include:
  • Performs maintenance and repairs from daily service requests, scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repairs of town facility systems, electrical components of mechanical systems, and street lighting.
  • Responsible for repair and maintenance of building electrical systems, troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, and installation of electrical components.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on town-owned streetlights.
  • Conduct town building safety checks to ensure buildings are in compliance with all applicable electrical codes, and assist the Facilities Supervisor to ensure all town facilities are in compliance with building, fire, and safety codes. Report any building deficiencies and issues to the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Work closely with outside contractors performing trade work outside the scope of the Facilities Division.
  • Assist with snow/ice removal operations with DPW staff as necessary.
Qualifications and experience: High School diploma required; MA Journeyman Electrical License, Class D Driver’s License, Hoisting License 2A and 1C preferred, and OSHA 10 preferred. General knowledge of building electrical systems and building automation systems. Ability to troubleshoot electrical and building automation systems without supervision. Ability to use own initiative and work independently and follow instructions to complete tasks in a timely manner. At least three (3) years of electrical system installation, troubleshooting and maintenance and at least three (3) years of building automation system operations troubleshooting and maintenance.
 
Starting Salary Range: $68,445 - $71,597, DOQ, with comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, and retirement plans.
